Sarah Hope Lincoln, PhD

Lab Director

Dr. Lincoln (she/her/hers) is an Associate Professor at Northeastern University and the Director of the Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory.

Elyssa Barrick, M.A.

Graduate Student

Elyssa (she/her/hers) is a 5th year graduate student. In the lab, she uses behavioral and neuroimaging methods to investigate neurocognitive mechanisms underlying emotional and social impairments across the psychosis spectrum. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, cooking, reading fantasy books, playing tabletop games, and going on nature walks with her pup Jemma.

Erica Karp, M.A., M.Ed.

Graduate Student 

Erica (she/her/hers) is a 3rd year clinical doctoral student. She’s interested in social-cognitive processes related to the development of psychosis and autism. More specifically, she is interested in the timing of social functioning difficulties and the subsequent impact on conversion risk in autistic individuals. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, visiting wineries, and taking her dogs Garak and Chloe for walks.

Jill Laquidara, M.A.

Graduate Student

Jill (she/her/hers) is a 6th year graduate student on internship at Alpert Warren Medical School/Brown University. Her research interests include psychotic disorders, with a focus on understanding the potential benefits of social support and other intervention strategies. She loves hiking, crafts, and dogs, and enjoys spending time with family in her spare time.

Madeline Ward, M.A.

Graduate Student

Madeline (she/her/hers) is a 4th year graduate student in the lab. She’s interested in researching the cognitive and social risk factors involved in the development and maintenance of psychosis. More specifically, she is interested in social dysfunction as it relates to engagement with treatment, as well as improving treatment access and engagement in early psychosis. In her spare time, she enjoys running and being active, and trying new places to eat or drink!

Charlotte Goyal, B.A.

Research Student 

Charlotte Goyal (she/her/hers) is a research assistant in the lab, interested in social development and communication of atypical populations such as children with autism spectrum disorders. She plans to pursue a degree in medicine, with the goal of becoming a pediatric physician and conducting research on neurodivergent paths of development. Outside of the lab she enjoys time on the ice figure skating and finding inspiration in books for creative writing.

Eliana Tandy, B.A.

Research Assistant

Ellie (she/her/hers) is recent graduate of CWRU and currently continuing her work on her undergraduate capstone in a project looking at peer pressure, academic engagement, and psychopathology. She is also teaching with City Year/AmeriCorps this year!

Jaanvi Patel

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Jaanvi Patel is a 3rd year undergraduate at Northeastern University majoring in Health Science on the Pre-Physician Assistant Track. She has done a Co-Op at Beth Israel and is passionate about using her clinical skills to advocate for patient rights. Outside of the lab, Jaanvi like to hangout with her friends, try new cafes, and dancing.

Alex Kukoff, M.A.

Research Assistant

Alexandra is a research assistant who graduated magna cum laude from the Honors College at UCLA and had the distinction of serving as commencement speaker for her graduating class. Additionally, she holds her Master’s in Fiction from the School of the Arts at Columbia University. She is the recipient of awards from Scholastic, The New York Times, and ABC for her short fiction, and carries her interest in the human condition from the creative sphere to the behavioral one. As she grows in her career, Alexandra hopes to focus on the role of social isolation in the development of mental illness in individuals with disabilities and marginalized identities; additionally, she aims to help as many individuals navigate the conflicts, challenges, and vicissitudes of life as she can.

Abbie Chang

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Abbie (she/they) is an undergraduate at Wellesley College and a research assistant in the lab, majoring in biology/neuroscience. She is interested in schizophrenia research, how AI is being used in animal communication, and the potential role of microtubules in understanding consciousness. They enjoy playing the drums, biking, and filmmaking.
