Sarah Hope Lincoln, PhD
Lab Director
Dr. Lincoln (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University and the Director of the Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory.
Lindsay Banks
Graduate Research Student
Lindsay (she/her/hers) is a clinical doctoral student. She is interested in looking at the relationship between early life adversity and psychosis from an early intervention/prevention lens. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her puppy, Desmond, watching tv, reading, sketching, and shopping.
Elyssa Barrick
Graduate Student
Elyssa (she/her/hers) is a 2nd year graduate student. In the lab, she uses behavioral and neuroimaging methods to investigate neurocognitive mechanisms underlying emotional and social impairments across the psychosis spectrum. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, cooking, reading fantasy books, playing tabletop games, and going on nature walks with her pup Jemma.
Erica Karp
Graduate Research Student
Erica (she/her/hers) is a clinical doctoral student. She’s interested in social-cognitive processes related to the development of psychosis and autism. More specifically, she is interested in the timing of social functioning difficulties and the subsequent impact on conversion risk in autistic individuals. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, visiting wineries, and taking her dog Garak for walks.
Jill Laquidara
Graduate Student
Jill (she/her/hers) is a 3rd year graduate student in the lab. Her research interests include psychotic disorders, with a focus on understanding the potential benefits of social support and other intervention strategies. She loves hiking, crafts, and dogs, and enjoys spending time with family in her spare time.
Madeline Ward
Graduate Student
Madeline (she/her/hers) is a 1st year graduate student in the lab. She’s interested in researching the cognitive and social risk factors involved in the development and maintenance of psychosis. More specifically, she is interested in social dysfunction as it relates to engagement with treatment, as well as improving treatment access and engagement in early psychosis. In her spare time, she enjoys running and being active, and trying new places to eat or drink!
Dwight "Alex" Alexander
Undergraduate Research Student
Alex (he/him/his) is an undergraduate research assistant in the lab interested in social psychology and mental health accessibility. He plans to be a psychologist. Outside of the lab his hobbies include exercising, baking, creating playlists, and reading/writing fiction.
Lydia Dorr
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Lydia Dorr (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate research assistant in the lab interested in theory of mind as it relates to moral cognition in abnormal populations. She aspires to receive her PhD, and later conduct research exploring the connections between ethics and psychology. In her spare time Lydia likes to run (or so she is told), read mystery novels, and listen to podcasts.
Charlotte Goyal
Undergraduate Research Student
Charlotte Goyal (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate research assistant in the lab, interested in social development and communication of atypical populations such as children with autism spectrum disorders. She plans to pursue a degree in medicine, with the goal of becoming a pediatric physician and conducting research on neurodivergent paths of development. Outside of the lab she enjoys time on the ice figure skating and finding inspiration in books for creative writing.
Jolie Held
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Jolie (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate research assistant double majoring in psychology and cognitive science. She is interested in child psychology, specifically the etiology and presentation of neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically anxiety and depression. After college, she intends to pursue a PhD or PsyD. Outside of the lab, Jolie is on the CWRU volleyball team and works as a tour guide. She also loves the beach (thanks to her SoCal roots), hiking, trying new foods, and coffee!
Julia Kolasinski
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Julia (she/her/hers) is a undergraduate majoring in psychology and minoring in cognitive science. She plans to go on to graduate school in clinical psychology. Outside of school and work, Julia loves reading, travel, and listening to true crime podcasts.
Ananya Kumar
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Ananya (she/her) is an undergraduate research assistant in the lab and is currently double majoring in Psychology and Cognitive Science. She is very interested in neurodevelopmental disorders in children such as ADHD and autism and hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology. In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym, driving around with friends, and playing with her niece.
Kate Li
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Kate (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate research assistant who is interested in neuroplasticity and factors that affect the development of neuropsychiatric disorders. She plans to pursue a degree in medicine, with hopes of becoming a child/adolescent psychiatrist. Outside of the lab, Kate loves biking, running, playing tennis, exploring new places, and watching Ted Talks!
Sophia Saavedra
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Sophia (she/her/hers) is an undergrad research assistant in the lab with an interest in physiological psychology. She hopes to eventually pursue her PhD in experimental psychology. In her spare time, she loves playing the clarinet and playing video games with her friends.
Brendan Silva
Undergraduate Research Student
I am 25 years old and I was an airborne infantryman from 2016-2020 where I deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel. I transferred to CWRU in the spring semester of 2023 pursuing a degree in psychology with intention to get my PhD in Clinical Psychology. I have a deep interest in PTSD, depression, and schizophrenia and I intend to conduct research on these disorders in the future. In my free time I enjoy exercising, learning martial arts, and reading books.
Shejuti Wahed
Undergraduate Research Student
Shejuti (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate research assistant in the lab, majoring in neuroscience and psychology. She is interested in how social determinants can influence mental illness, development, and treatment. She hopes to receive a PhD in clinical psychology and conduct research and treatment in neuropsychology. In her free time, she enjoys watching anime, baking, and creating ultra-specific Spotify playlists.
