Community Studies

We often have ongoing studies for most adolescents and adults to participate both in person and online! Feel free to reach out if you are interested in any of the following studies:

Social Relationships & Suicide

The Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory at Case Western Reserve University is enrolling individuals to participate in a study being done on social relationships and suicide behavior. To participate in this study you must be between the ages of 15-35 and have no history of psychiatric disorders. This study includes a: 1)  3-4 hour behavioral session that includes questionnaires and interviews with a researcher. ($10/hour) 2) complete brief surveys on your phone when prompted (6 times a day) by an app on your phone for one week (up to $90), 3) complete a 1-month and a 3-month follow-up interview ($10/hour). Adolescents & Social Experiences

You are invited to participate in a study about social stress and unusual experiences. This study is for adolescents ages 14-17 years. This study is completed entirely online. You will answer some questions about yourself, your social experiences, thoughts, and feelings. This study should last approximately 20 minutes. At the end of the study, you may enter your email address to receive a $5 Amazon gift card. The link below will direct you to the study. Adverse Childhood Experiences

You are invited to participate in a research study about psychological/social experiences you have had in childhood and adulthood. This study is completed entirely online. You will answer some questions about your background and fill out questionnaires about a variety of psychological experiences. This study will last approximately 30-45 minutes and you will receive a $5 Amazon (US) gift card. You are eligible to participate in this study if you are 18 years or older. Clinical Studies

Treatment Engagement

You are invited to participate in a research study examining cognitive and social factors related to mental health treatment for individuals with a diagnosis of a schizophrenia-spectrum disorder. This study is completed entirely online via Zoom. You will complete questionnaires about your social life and feelings toward mental illness, as well as complete a clinical interview where a researcher will ask you questions about your mental health, social experiences, and beliefs about mental illness. This study will take approximately 1-2 hours. You will receive $20 as compensation.   You may be eligible to participate in this study if you are at least 18 years old, you have been diagnosed with a schizophrenia-spectrum disorder, you live in the US, and English is your primary language. Social Relationships & Suicide

The Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory at Case Western Reserve University is seeking individuals diagnosed with a psychotic disorder to participate in a research study being done on social relationships and suicide behaviors. To participate in this study you must be between the ages of 15-35 with a psychotic disorder diagnosis – this may include schizophrenia or bipolar disorders. This study includes a: 1)  3-4 hour behavioral session that includes questionnaires and interviews with a researcher. ($10/hour) 2) complete brief surveys on your phone when prompted (6 times a day) by an app on your phone for one week (up to $90), 3) complete a 1-month and a 3-month follow-up interview ($10/hour).
